Hey what a great first taste guys! Nice and clean, I'd like to see it live!
Guitar driven stuff will always work (but you could be more prominent Joe!). Obviously you know what you're doing and your self-critique will be better than any i can give, but perhaps you could layer the drums for better dynamics. Rather than introducing complex beats to build, simplify them, layer each rhythm track, open up the cymbals for climaxes etc. It sounds great in its raw state though!
I think Thrice do it quite well on their Water album from The Alchemy Index series.
More delay and reverb!

Sounds really good :)

When I stumbled across this site trying to find a recording of "we belong to the day" I didn't really expect to find such a great recording of it.

Full disclosure: I suspect the minimalism of the beat was kind of subliminally influenced by Ellen Allien & Apparat's amazing record "Orchestra of Bubbles". Particularly this track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VaqUxdfZnME ... I agree it's a bit stark when isolated like it is at the beginning

That's most likely me bumping notes :-P Still getting used to this particular kind of multitasking while playing...

Glad you like it. Not sure I like that it evokes memories of Bach, though!

Sounding pretty cool guys! You're beginning to win me over. Love the guitar work, as always, Joe, but where's the backing vocal harmony?

A bit of hopefully constructive criticism...I'm not a real fan of the 1st rhythm track - kind of sounds like a metronome...reminding me of repetitive practice at the piano playing Bach. And is there a 'minor 2nd' clash of one of the EP (or what sounds like an EP to me) bits, throughout (e.g. right at the end)? Maybe that was intentional!
